STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Firefighters responded to a blaze inside a private home in Travis Sunday night.
The FDNY received a call around 7:50 p.m. reporting a fire on the first floor of a 2½-story residence at 81 Towers Lane between Victory Boulevard and Church Avenue, according to an FDNY spokesperson.
Video posted to Citizen shortly after the fire broke out showed black smoke rising above the neighborhood.
A total of 21 FDNY units including 79 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene as crews worked to bring the fire under control.

Firefighters could be seen checking the second floor and attic through the upper-floor windows while searching the home for any remaining pockets of fire. The blaze was brought under control at about 8:40 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, the FDNY spokesperson said. Additional details were not immediately available.
