Singer-songwriter Morrissey has been forced to cancel his upcoming South American “Nude” tour dates due to “extreme exhaustion,” according to venue announcements and Rolling Stone.

The former Smiths frontman was scheduled to perform a series of shows in Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Santiago, Lima and Bogotá from Nov. 8 to Nov. 22, but those plans have now been cancelled, the report said.

“We inform the public that, due to extreme exhaustion of the artist, Morrissey’s tour of Latin America will not take place, including the show scheduled for Nov. 8 at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires,” Argentina’s Movistar Arena said in a statement on Instagram.

This cancellation comes just days after Morrissey pulled out of two concerts in Mexico, also citing “extreme exhaustion.”

Promoter OCESA shared a statement on the day of the Mexico City show, saying: “We are informing the public in Mexico City and Guadalajara that, due to the artist’s extreme exhaustion, Morrissey’s concerts scheduled for Oct. 31 at the Palacio de los Deportes and Nov. 4 at the Auditorio Telmex have been cancelled, the Roling Stone report said.

According to the outlet, Morrissey’s tour cancellations have extended beyond South America and Mexico in recent months. Last month, he cancelled shows in Turkey due to backlash over his support for Israel, and in September, concerts in Connecticut and Boston were cancelled following a “credible threat” against the singer’s life.

The 66-year-old performer has also had to bow out of concerts in Stockholm, citing a lack of “music industry support,” as well as shows in California in May after he was hospitalized for a “severe sinusitis attack,” the report said.
