WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – This week is National Farmers Market Week, and the New York Farm Bureau is encouraging people to shop local and support their farmers markets.
According to the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, produce in season in August includes blueberries, peaches, cucumbers and peppers.
The state Agriculture and Markets office maintains a list of farmers markets and farm stands by county.
Watertown’s farmers market is scheduled for Wednesday on Washington Street.
