It’s been almost one month since a high-rise Midtown office building that is being converted into an apartment building became dangerously unstable.
That’s because two structural support columns buckled at the former Pfizer headquarters on East 42nd Street — prompting evacuations of the building and the nearby area until it was stabilized.
An investigation is still underway into what caused this.
But the high-rise’s near-collapse has led to growing concerns about other conversion projects across the five boroughs.
This week, the city’s Department of Buildings issued dozens of violations after a review of 180 construction sites connected to the firms tied to the Midtown project.
