A 27-year-old commuter was shoved onto the subway tracks during a heated argument in Greenwich Village Friday morning, but was helped back onto the platform by other straphangers before a train could enter the station, police said.
His attacker, a man wearing all black, sporting black and white sneakers and carrying a black bag, fled the Queens-bound A/C/E platform at the West 4th St. station and remained at large, officials said.
Police said both the victim and his attacker had gotten into an argument with each other as they rode a train into the station, although it was not clear what they were fighting about.
The argument continued when they both got off the train at about 9:05 a.m., and the victim was shoved off the platform onto the tracks.
It was not immediately clear if the two men knew each other before the argument.
Medics took the victim to Bellevue Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.
The suspect was last seen running to the B/D platform at the West 4th station, cops said.
