ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. (WRGB) — New York State Police have released new images of a man they say is wanted out of a homicide investigation.

Troopers say Thomas Ryan is believed to be armed and dangerous and they are currently trying to find him.

They say Ryan is responsible for setting a fire at a home on Greenville Turnpike on Thursday.

Investigators found a body inside the home after they put the fire out. So far, they have not released the identity of the man who died or what connection he may have to Ryan.

State Police are now working with neighboring police departments, crime analysis centers, transportation partners, and aviation resources to try to find Ryan.

They say he was last seen driving a gray 2016 Toyota Prius with New York registration HNH-7671.

Troopers are asking residents in Greenville to check their home surveillance footage to see if they recorded anything from approximately 6:00 p.m. on August 6, 2026, through the overnight hours which could help their investigation.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call State Police or 911.
