I just found a place in Brooklyn, New York, that is serving up some of the most outrageous comfort food I have ever laid eyes on.

I made a trip to Time Out Market in Brooklyn specifically to visit Jacob’s Pickles. They are famous for taking classic comfort dishes and pushing them to a completely crazy level. I needed to see if the food actually lived up to the hype. The result? Incredible.

I kicked things off with their wildly popular Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese. The kitchen starts by heating up an ultra-creamy cheese sauce in a pan with a generous dash of hot sauce. They throw in shredded cheese and freshly chopped fried chicken tenders before tossing it all together over an open flame. They add freshly boiled penne pasta, slide the mixture onto a plate, and pile even more cheese on top.

The entire plate goes right under the broilers until the top turns golden and bubbly. Look at that pull! The cheese pull on this dish goes on for days. Every single forkful is packed with rich, creamy goodness and a spicy kick from the buffalo sauce.

Next up was their Barbecue Smothered Chicken Sandwich. It starts with a thick, house-made biscuit sliced right down the middle. They layer on two massive, crispy fried chicken tenders and drown them in a healthy pour of creamy barbecue sauce. Drenched. A heavy handful of shredded parmesan cheese covers the chicken before the top biscuit seals the deal. The combination of the flaky biscuit and tangy sauce is pure magic.

You also cannot skip their Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. They load another fresh biscuit with super crispy chicken slathered in fiery Nashville hot sauce. Sauce spills all over the plate. Then they top it off with a mountain of crisp pickles to balance out the heat. The crunch when you take a bite is insane.

If you are looking for top-tier comfort food that hits the spot, run to Time Out Market in Brooklyn right now. You will want to devour every single thing on this menu.
