NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — A heat advisory is in effect today from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with temperatures expected to reach the upper 90s, according to the National Weather Service.

The advisory covers must of New York City including the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Northern Queens, Staten Island and Southern Queens.

There is a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon, but conditions will remain sunny.

Sunday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 76.

Thunderstorm chances return Monday after 5 p.m. Skies will turn mostly cloudy, with a high near 87 and southwest winds between 6 and 11 mph.
