NYC Still Has Long Way to Go Before Opening Curtis High School Annex on Private Lot

New York City officials want to bring 801 new high school seats to St. George, but they still have a long way to go. Before moving forward, the School Construction Authority must acquire the property at 25 Wall St. where a surface parking lot has stood since the 1970s. The agency hopes to finalize the acquisition by mid-August, with a goal of opening the school in time for the 2031 school year. On July 16, the New York City Council approved the School Construction Authority’s site plan, and the deal has been in the works since at least October 2025. The annex is planned for a new four-story building at 25 Wall St. with about 117,000 square feet of space, while the lot remains under ownership of an LLC controlled by Muss Development.
