A 5-year-old Bronx boy was critically hurt when he fell from a fifth-floor apartment window, police said Monday.

The boy tumbled out the window in the building at Buchanan Place and Davidson Ave. in University Heights about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, cops said.

He was rushed to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia, where he is in critical but stable condition, officials said.

Witnesses told CBS News New York the boy landed on the concrete, his face swollen from the impact.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the boy was alone in the apartment. The superintended told CBS the boy appears to have climbed over or through a window guard.
