Dakota Ditcheva revealed she broke both hands during her unanimous-decision win, indicating a brief stint on the sidelines. The 28-year-old improved to 16-0 at PFL New York against Denise Kielholtz, feeling the injuries early in Round 2. She did not inform her corner and waited until after leaving the cage to disclose the damage.The bout was her first in more than a year after breaking her hands in a July 2025 win over Sumiko Inaba. An additional hand injury earlier this year postponed a February meeting with Kielholtz at PFL Dubai. Ditcheva, now in splints, awaits guidance from her surgeon after previously forgoing recommended surgery on one hand. On return, she is expected to face 2025 tournament champion Liz Carmouche.
