On July 1, at approximately 6:25 p.m., Botero was outside a Greenburgh home when he grabbed the hand of a woman who was at the entrance to her home to retrieve a delivery, investigators said. Believing he was the courier, she attempted to pay him before he pushed her inside, according to the allegations made in court. The victim attempted to close the front door and ran upstairs as Botero pursued her, grabbed her by the neck, and shoved her onto a sofa, where he got on top of her and forcibly attempted to pull up her dress while removing his pants, according to prosecutors.

The victim’s mother intervened, striking Botero with a broom while yelling at him to let her daughter go, according to court filings. Botero then pushed the mom to the ground and dragged her by her hair, before pinning her down and squeezing her neck, according to police.
