PaleyFest NY, a celebration of media and culture, is returning to the Paley Center for Media. The festival will be held from Thursday, Oct. 8, to Wednesday, Oct. 14.
The festival has been a tradition since 1984, when it was primarily held in Los Angeles. Since 2013, PaleyFest NY has featured many prominent influencers and figures in entertainment.
“From exclusive premieres and behind-the-scenes conversations to unforgettable moments with the biggest names in entertainment, PaleyFest NY delivers unparalleled access to the stars and shows fans love,” President and CEO of the Paley Center for Media Maureen J. Reidy said.
At the festival, the Paley Center for Media will celebrate the 50-year anniversary of the 1976 opening of the Paley Museum. It was founded as the Museum of Broadcasting before evolving into the exhibit it is today.

This year, the Paley Center for Media will debut the inaugural PaleyFest Award. The winner of the award will have their work permanently on display in the Paley Archive.
“The PaleyFest Award [is] a mark of distinction that honors the extraordinary talent and storytelling across media, television and entertainment,” Reidy said. “We are thrilled to welcome audiences back to the Paley Museum this October for this year’s exciting festival.”
Each day, the festival will celebrate a specific piece of media content and its creators. The first day of the festival will begin with a screening of American Horror Story: 13 as well as a conversation with the cast and producers.
Friday’s event will feature a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the show Dexter and will include a screening of the season 2 premiere of Dexter: Resurrection. A panel with key contributors will follow.
Sylvester Stallone is expected to appear on Saturday for the season 4 premiere of Tulsa King alongside some of the show’s producers. The weekend will conclude with similar events featuring the cast of Marshals with a new episode being shown.
Legendary comedian, actor, writer, producer and show host Billy Crystal will attend a special conversation on Monday to discuss his illustrious career. The Tony and Emmy award winner will also discuss his return to Broadway in Billy Crystal 860.

The final two days of the festival will include a panel of cast members discussing season four of The Gilded Age on Tuesday and a screening of the season 4 premiere of The Diplomat followed by a panel discussion on Wednesday,

Since the Paley Center for Media was founded in 1975, it has been known for memorializing significant pieces of media. The nonprofit cultural organization emphasizes the impact these pieces of media have on our society.
