The New York State Police said they arrested 19 people on 68 charges during a three-day-long Organized Retail Theft enforcement detail.
The enforcement detail ran from Aug. 6 to 8 and was conducted in Syracuse, Watertown and Utica.
The state police said 31 of the 68 charges were felonies. The other 37 charges were misdemeanors. The investigations involved $11,650 in reported stolen merchandise, of which $6,396 was recovered and returned to the stores.
The police said the suspects’ charges include grand larceny, burglary, criminal possession of stolen property, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy, criminal possession of an anti-security item and falsifying business records.
