Detectives in the Bronx are working to nail down exactly what took place in an apartment on Tuesday evening after a 15-year-old boy was fatally shot in the head and a younger teen was grazed by a bullet.
According to police sources, police from the 50th Precinct were called to 2825 Claflin Ave. in Kingsbridge Heights at around 5:23 p.m. on Aug. 11 after a 911 caller reported that a person had been shot.
When cops arrived, they found 15-year-old boy Riley Billingslea with a gunshot wound to the head. EMS responded and pronounced Billingslea dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, police tracked 13-year-old boy to his home and found him with a graze wound to his torso. He was rushed to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he is expected to recover. It is believed his wound may have been from a bullet that ricocheted.
While the investigation is still ongoing, police sources report that the incident is being probed as a possible dispute inside the apartment with a third teen. No arrests have been made.
This is the second time this week a teen has died via a gunshot wound in a Bronx apartment.
On Monday, 16-year-old John Nunez lost his life after he and another teen had been horsing with a gun when it went off and killed him.
