Going Bacharach: The Songs of an Icon, a theatrical revue focused on the song catalogue of Burt Bacharach, will get an Off-Broadway encore this fall, with a second limited run now set at The Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater beginning September 9. The 12-week engagement will officially open September 16.
Tony-winning lyricist David Zippel (City of Angels, Hercules) will return to direct. Also back from the earlier run will be vocalists Hilary Kole (Our Sinatra) and John Pagano, and pianist-clarinet player Adrian Galante, who co-created the show. They’ll be newly joined by vocalist Ava Locknar, who previously appeared in the revue’s Chicago engagement, with additional casting to be announced.
The show is co-created by Will Friedwald, Galante, Tedd Firth, and Jack Lewin, who also conceived the project. Among the songs featured from the Promises, Promises composer are such favorites as “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?,” “What’s New Pussycat?,” “That’s What Friends Are For,” and more. Arrangements, orchestrations, and music direction are by Galante, with Firth serving as musical supervisor.
The production also features scenic design by Christopher and Justin Swader, costume design by Frank Cazares, and lighting and sound design by Matt Berman. Ian McQueen will serve as production stage manager, and Peter F. Feuchtwanger is production supervisor. Visceral Entertainment is general managing.
Lewin is producing via his Lewin Productions banner, in association with Amas Musical Theatre.
