Lina Fang chose Staten Island for her children after settling in New York and living in Brooklyn’s Park Slope. In 1985, she and her husband Harry traded Brooklyn for a home on Grymes Hill. She said her children were her priority and wanted them to grow up in a peaceful environment. More than four decades later, Fang still believes they made the right decision. She has spent decades giving back through education, cultural preservation, cancer awareness, and patient care. Fang says Staten Island is where her family grew, and where her community service took root.
