THERESA, New York (WWNY) – Safety improvements may be coming to a Jefferson County intersection where a rollover crash was caught on camera in March.
Assemblyman Scott Gray said state and local officials met to consider ways to improve safety at the intersection of State Route 37 and County Road 193 — known as Cooper’s Corners in the town of Theresa.
The New York State Police, the state Department of Transportation, and town officials all took part in the meeting.
What could change
Gray said the goal is to reduce the number of accidents at the intersection. Ideas discussed included reducing the number of access points and adding mobile speed radars.
“We’re looking at short-term solutions that could be possibly implemented to make it safer, and there’s longer-term solutions that DOT talked about,” said Gray (R. – 116th District).
