TOWN OF WAVERLY, N.Y. (WWTI) – A 66-year-old Moira man is facing multiple charges, including burglary, for an alleged incident last week.
On August 7, 2026, New York State Police arrested Fred Wilson, age 66, of Moira, and charged him with second-degree burglary, criminal mischief, and petit larceny.
Just after 2:20 p.m. August 6,, state troopers responded to Lake Ozonia Road in the town of Waverly for a reported burglary.
An investigation allegedly determined an unknown individual unlawfully entered a cabin without permission by breaking windows. Further investigation found a male entered the cabin and reportedly stole property. A vehicle associated with the incident was subsequently identified and located in the area.
Through continued investigation, troopers identified Wilson as the individual allegedly responsible for the burglary.
Wilson was arrested and transported to the state police headquarters in Ray Brook for processing. He was arraigned in the Town of Waverly Court and released on his own recognizance.
