Developers of a proposed affordable senior housing project in Lower Manhattan agreed to discontinue their lawsuit accusing the city and former Mayor Eric Adams (D) of illegally blocking them from moving ahead with the plan.
Their notice to the court came just one day after Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) said during a press conference that the Adams administration’s decision to declare Elizabeth Street Garden, a community green space and sculpture garden in Manhattan’s Nolita neighborhood, as government-owned parkland made it “nearly impossible” to proceed with the plan.
