MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – Riley County police on Thursday arrested a man in connection with aggravated assault and other offenses, officials said.
The arrested man was identified as Austin Dean Cater, 29, of Manhattan.
Authorities said Carter was arrested around 3:55 p.m. Thursday in the 1800 block of Humboldt Street.

Officials said Carter was subsequently booked into the Riley County Jail in connection with three counts of aggravated assault; four counts of harassment by telecom device; two counts of criminal threat; and one count of stalking.
Riley County Police officials said this arrest stems from reports originally filed in April 2026.
Carter was issued a total bond of $12,000 and remained Friday in the Riley County Jail.
