Curtis Bay man pleads guilty halfway through trial for wife’s killing in Brooklyn Park

A Curtis Bay man’s guilty plea came halfway through his first-degree murder trial and more than a year after his wife’s killing.

In May 2025, police arrested and charged Cedric Callaway in the killing of his wife, Sarah Bundy.
Calloway, 51, was seen on surveillance video walking with Bundy to Alley 79 off Disney Avenue, but only Callaway returned. His wife’s body was found in Brooklyn Park the next day under a pile of tires.
Investigators said they observed what appeared to be significant trauma to Bundy’s head, face and neck.
Baltimore City police eventually arrested Callaway on an unrelated matter when he said he and his wife were robbed in the alley. Prosecutors said Callaway had told police that he had been pistol-whipped and his wife was still missing.
While investigators said they found no injuries on Callaway that were consistent with being pistol-whipped, they did see apparent blood stains on his hands and under his fingernails.
Prosecutors said Callaway told detectives he was going to “prison” and that he would kill himself if he was being charged with murder. At that point, detectives had not yet told him that Bundy was dead, prosecutors said.
The Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office said the guilty plea came on the fourth day of trial.
Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess said in a statement:
“The defendant’s surprise plea was certainly a recognition that things were not going his way during trial. This was a cold-blooded, heinous crime where the defendant killed his wife and mother of his child, then left her under a pile of tires in an alley. I am grateful that we were able to get justice for Ms. Bundy. I want to commend (Assistant State’s Attorney Katherine) Anthony on her strong prosecution at trial that led the defendant to plead guilty.”
Sentencing has been set for Sept. 15.
