Cops are looking for the suspects who stabbed a 7 train rider during an unprovoked assault in Jackson Heights.

Police from the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights and Transit District 20 are looking for three suspects after a 7 train rider was stabbed in an unprovoked assault at the 82nd Street subway station during the early morning of Thursday, Aug. 13.
Police say the 35-year-old male victim was standing on the Manhattan-bound platform at just after 5 a.m. when he was approached by three strangers who engaged him in a physical altercation. During the brawl, one of the suspects stabbed him twice in his abdomen with an unknown sharp object. The assailants fled the station onto Roosevelt Avenue and ran off in an unknown direction.
EMS transported the wounded man to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspects walking along the platform and described the first suspect as having a medium complexion with long black hair who wore a black T-shirt, black shorts over black leggings. The second suspect has a medium complexion with a goatee and a heavy build and wore a pink T-shirt, gray sweatpants and a black baseball cap. The third man has a medium complexion with a black beard and mustache and a heavy build. He wore a white T-shirt, black sweatpants, a gold chain and a black Knicks baseball cap.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to their arrest and indictment.

Through Aug. 9, the 15th Precinct has reported 255 felony assaults so far in 2026, 90 fewer than the 345 reported at the same point last year, a decline of 26.1%, according to the most recent CompStat report. Transit crimes are also trending lower in the precinct with 24 reported so far this year, ten fewer than the 34 reported at the same point in 2025, a decrease of 29.4%, according to CompStat.
