After a one-year hiatus, a family-friendly activity in the northwest metro is making its big return just in time for fall.
The Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze is back for the season, welcoming families to a brand-new home near the intersection of Highway 169 and 101st Avenue North in Brooklyn Park.
Event organizers canceled last year’s festival after development forced them out of their long-time location along 109th Avenue. Finding and setting up a new site wasn’t the only hurdle this season—a hot, dry summer presented extra challenges for growing the corn field. However, organizers say the crop is healthy, the maze is carved out, and everything is ready to go.
The Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze is at a new location this year, near the intersection of Highway 169 and 101st Avenue N in Brooklyn Park.
For the organizers, maintaining continuity for long-time attendees was top priority.
“Our goal really this year was just to replicate — for the people that have been coming to us for 10-plus years — replicate that exact same experience that was at that old location, just at a new location,” said Bear Bouwman, general manager of the Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze. “Otherwise, everything’s going to be the same.”
This year’s corn maze features a patriotic design celebrating America’s 250th birthday. In addition to the maze, visitors can expect the usual slate of family-friendly fall activities, food, and entertainment.
The entry fee will be $20 per person and include access to attractions like the petting zoo, inflatables, the gunny sack slide, the straw bale maze and the corn maze.
Bouwman says the new website for the Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze isn’t up and running quite yet. Updates will eventually be posted on their Facebook page.
