by Rite Aid-Replacing Tower Coming to Corner of Smith and President?
A big change is coming to the corner of Smith and President streets in Carroll Gardens, right across from Carroll Park and at the F train stop. The entire block front on the west side of Smith Street from Union to President has sold to a developer for $21.5 million, who for now is keeping mum on their identity and future plans, according to deal brokers TerraCRG.

This pedigreed Historic District dwelling at one end of a row of 12 Flemish Revival style buildings near Prospect Park came fully loaded. Completed in 1903 and designed by architects Chappell & Bosworth, a prolific Brooklyn-based team for the first three decades of the 20th century, the house was laden with carved oak woodwork, including a central staircase, elaborate fireplace surrounds, mirrors, and doors, as well as parquet floors and several stained-glass windows.

Tankhouse to Raze Historic Boerum Hill Church After $28.25 Million Purchase
The days are numbered for an impressive Romanesque Revival church that has commanded the corner of Schermerhorn Street and 3rd Avenue in Boerum Hill since the late 1800s. Brooklyn developer Tankhouse is in contract to buy the site for $28.25 million and plans to tear down the fire-damaged structure, court documents show.

Brooklyn Designers Will Remake the Heights Showhouse This Fall
Talents in Brooklyn and beyond will soon set to work transforming the mid-19th century Greek Revival-Italianate at 1 Monroe Place in Brooklyn Heights for the biennial Brooklyn Heights Association Designer Showhouse. The benefit showcases design in Brooklyn while also raising funds for the longtime neighborhood group to continue its community advocacy work.
