A 23-year-old man from Perry, New York was fatally struck while walking on a highway in Missouri early Friday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 70, east of Wentzville Parkway in St. Charles County. A tractor-trailer was traveling east when the man entered its path from the south, the crash report says.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the report says. Police have not yet released his name. The tractor-trailer driver was not hurt.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating.
