92nd Texas Rose Festival Queen Avery Craft Armstrong visits Tyler ISD students

Texas Rose Festival Queen Avery Craft Armstrong has been visiting Tyler ISD elementary campuses to read ‘The Queen’s Tea’ to second-grade girls at Douglas, Griffin, and Birdwell. The tour will conclude on Wednesday at Caldwell Arts Academy.
This annual tradition connects the Texas Rose Festival with local schools, giving students the opportunity to meet the Queen, learn about community traditions, and get excited for the upcoming festivities.
The Texas Rose Festival Queen’s Tea is a beloved community event where guests of all ages can meet the Queen and her Court in the Tyler Municipal Rose Garden from 1 to 3 p.m. this Saturday with free admission.
“I’m so excited to invite the entire community to come to my Tea,” Armstrong said. “I hope there will be a lot of first-timers who can come and experience the event in the amazing Rose Garden.”
For decades, girls in second grade from across the community have been invited to serve as junior hostesses at the Queen’s Tea; however, all students from every grade are welcome to attend this cherished tradition that adds a special touch of hospitality to the event. Junior hostesses help greet guests, pass out fans, autograph books, maps, napkins, and water, and assist with keeping the area tidy throughout the afternoon.
This year’s visit and events continue to highlight the strong connection between Tyler ISD, the Texas Rose Festival, and the greater Tyler community—celebrating local history, tradition, and pride in full bloom.
