When tragedy strikes, the NYC dining scene always finds a way to step up. Following the devastating recent earthquakes in Colombia and Venezuela, two culinary powerhouses are joining forces for A Table With Purpose.
On Wednesday, August 19, NoMad’s Elcielo New York is opening its doors to Washington D.C.’s Michelin-starred Mita for a one-night-only collaborative dinner.
A powerful culinary crossover
This special evening brings together Colombian chef Juan Manuel Barrientos of Elcielo and Venezuelan chefs Miguel Guerra and Tatiana Mora of Mita. While both restaurants offer incredibly distinct takes on contemporary Latin American cuisine, they are blending their perspectives to create a unique family-style menu.
What started as a benefit for Venezuelan communities quickly expanded after the August 10 earthquake in Colombia. Now, the chefs are cooking with a shared mission to help both of their home countries.

The immersive experience kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception and signature bites. Then, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., guests will sit down for a family-style feast complete with curated wine pairings.
To make the night even more special, the chefs will personally introduce each course. They’ll share the heartfelt stories behind their food before physically joining guests at the table.

Dining for a cause
Tickets for the dinner are $350 per person, and your seat directly helps those in need.
A generous 20% of the proceeds will be donated to the AMAÏ Foundation. The funds will be directed straight toward earthquake recovery efforts, supporting vulnerable children, mothers, and families across South America.
