BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — A woman was killed and a man was wounded after a shooting early Sunday, police said.
Police responded to a 911 call just after 2:20 a.m. reporting a person shot near Bergen Street and Howard Avenue in Brooklyn. Officers arrived and found two victims.
Investigators said the shooting began after an argument escalated and someone opened fire. Police said it is not yet clear whether either victim was the intended target.
Police said the woman was shot in the back and taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The man suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition, according to police.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
