Wayland, N.Y. — Two women were seriously injured after a car hit a home in Steuben County this afternoon.
New York State Police troopers responded to the area of West Naples Street and St. John Street just before 3 p.m. for a report of a serious crash.
An investigation determined that a 2020 Honda was traveling eastbound on West Naples Street when it missed a curve and crossed into the westbound lane, exited the roadway, and struck multiple trees and a home before coming to rest, according to New York State Police.
The driver of the car, a 23-year-old woman from Rochester, was transported to Noyes Memorial Hospital for serious injuries, and her passenger, a 23-year-old woman from Rochester, was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for serious injuries.
No one inside the home was injured, according to police.
Police say the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, but the passenger was.
The crash is still under investigation.
