The second public hearing of the Child Poverty Reduction Advisory Council takes place on Tuesday.
“CPRAC” is the body created by Gov. Kathy Hochul to analyze child poverty in New York state, make poverty reduction recommendations, and ensure that the state’s goal of reducing child poverty by 50% is on track.
Five years ago, the state committed to cutting child poverty in half over the next 10 years.
Kate Breslin, who is on the board of CPRAC as well as the President and CEO of Schuyler Center for Analysis and Advocacy, and co-host of the hearing, previewed the event on Capital Tonight.
