This week on Monica Makes It Happen, we’re celebrating our older New Yorkers and giving families the information and resources they need to thrive. Monica is joined by co-host Dr. Lisa Scott-McKenzie, Commissioner of New York City Aging, along with Scott French, Administrator of the New York City Human Resources Administration, Linda Hoffman, President of the New York Foundation for Senior Citizens, and Beth Finkel of AARP New York.

From housing and aging in place to SNAP benefits, food security and resources available to older New Yorkers, we’re connecting viewers directly to help.

Then, we’re helping New York’s small businesses pursue the American Dream. Robert Rodriguez, Northeast Regional Director of Business Banking at Chase; Andrea Giraldo, Senior Business Consultant; and Tanya Molina, founder and owner of Villa Kuyaya Chocolate, join Monica to talk about Chase’s American Dream Initiative and Coaching for Impact and how access to coaching, expertise and resources can help entrepreneurs build stronger businesses and create lasting opportunities in their communities.

And finally, we head to Canarsie to make one very special dream come true. Magdalena Wilson is 105 years young, and her son reached out to Monica Makes It Happen because one of his mother’s dreams was to be on television. Thanks to Goya Gives, Monica surprises Magdalena with a tiara, a gift basket and lots of love as we celebrate her incredible life and officially make her television dream happen.
