The City Council held an oversight hearing Tuesday on New York City’s rollout of the luxury second home tax.
The Mamdani administration has been receiving criticism from both sides of the aisle after some homeowners in the city received a letter saying they’re on the hook for the new tax, unless they prove the home is their primary residence.
Councilman Frank Morano is one of the mayor’s more vocal pied-à-terre critics.
Morano joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday to discuss the hearing and more.
He represents Staten Island, including all or part of Willowbrook, Freshkills Park, Annadale and Tottenville.
