MCC Theater has revealed the full cast and creative team for the world premiere of ANON: a tempest at our kitchen table by Anne Washburn (Mr. Burns, a post-electric play).

Directed by Obie Award winner and Tony nominee Anne Kauffman (Mary Jane), ANON will kick off MCC’s 40th anniversary season beginning September 25, with opening night set for October 14. The limited run will continue through November 1 at the Newman Mills Theater at The Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space.

The play centers on terminally online TikToker Jeanie after a gay pride flag is unfurled in front of the home across from hers in her sheltered Texas suburb. As the fantasy and reality of living in 21st-century America collide, she is forced to question how well she actually knows the people she lives amongst.

The cast will feature Jeff Biehl (The Burning Cauldron of Fiery Fire), Crystal Finn (Cold War Choir Practice), Andrew Garman (The Holdovers), Izabel Mar (Family), and Jeremy Shamos (Clybourne Park).

The production will feature scenic design by dots (The Rocky Horror Show), costume design by Brenda Abbandandolo (Good Night, and Good Luck), lighting design by Cha See (Trophy Boys), sound design by Tei Blow (Rheology), projection design by Jared Mezzocchi (Vietgone), and prop supervision by Andrew Diaz (Table 17). 

Katie Girardot (My Joy Is Heavy) will serve as the production stage manager, Harriet Tubman Effect’s Nicole Johnson is the DEI Consultant, and casting is by The Telsey Office.
