Amazon delivers millions of packages across New York City, but Mayor Zohran Mamdani says the company needs to take more responsibility for the workers making those deliveries.
The mayor is backing the Delivery Protection Act, which would crack down on subcontracting and create new safety and worker protections at so-called last-mile delivery facilities.
The proposal would also require certain facilities to be licensed by the city and establish standards for worker safety, training and working conditions.
Deputy Mayor for Economic Justice Julie Su joined “Mornings On 1” to discuss the proposal and what it could mean for delivery workers and companies operating in New York City.
