What can the Tour de France offer that a bike ride through Queens can’t? Nothing, if you ask us, because there’s no better place to take a spin on two wheels than The World’s Borough.
This week, Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. announced the inaugural “Ride Queens” bike tour. Hosted in partnership with NYC Parks and Transportation Alternatives, this free community cycling event will take up to 2,000 riders across Queens on Sunday, September 20, beginning at 10am. Participants will be able to choose to ride along one of two scenic routes, each featuring some of Queens’ best existing and future greenway infrastructure — a 12-mile loop through Central Queens and a 25-mile route that expands into Northern and Eastern Queens. Both loops will begin and end in Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
There are few better ways to take in the sights and sounds of Queens than a two-wheel trek throughout the diverse communities that make up The World’s Borough. Whether you’re just learning how to ride or you’re a dedicated cyclist who gets around the city on your bike, Ride Queens is for you. Come make friends, get a workout in, see Queens in a brand-new way and be a part of our borough’s diverse cycling community.

In addition to the bike ride, there will be a post-ride festival in Flushing Meadows Corona Park featuring international food vendors, performances, sponsor tabling, giveaways and more.
Further information about Ride Queens, such the specific starting location within Flushing Meadows Corona Park, will be announced closer to the day of the event. The exact 12- and 25-mile routes will be shared digitally with participants upon registration. Ride Queens will take place rain or shine. See you on the road!
