Just 2 weeks ago, there was a day that was nearly 80 degrees outside–a time when people call it the “fakeout” summer, when it seems like it continues with the nice weather.

Then you hear weeks later that it is going to snow.

There has been a lot of chatter about snow in New York State next week, and it is expected to come all over.

Here is how much it is going to snow around New York State:Dunkirk, New York – 4.2 inchesAlbion, New York – 3.5 inchesWarsaw, New York – 2.2 inches

Western New York will get the most amount of snow coming up on late Sunday through Tuesday morning. In fact, there is only going to be WARMER temperatures in Albany and closer to New York City. If you go up closer to the mountains up north in New York State by the Adirondack mountains, a light dusting is possible by the end of next week.

When is the first day of Winter this year, 2025?

It is not officially winter season until December 21, 2025. That is only 4 days before Christmas, so a lot of people hope there is at least a little snow on the ground, so it sets the scene for when Santa comes. Winter lasts until March 20, 2026.
