After suffering a devastating spinal cord injury in 2018, Fergus Farrell was told he had just a 5% chance of ever walking again.

After months of rehabilitation, Farrell learned to walk again. Now, the man from Galway, Ireland, is preparing for his biggest challenge yet: walking 3,000 miles across the country in 75 days.

Farrell will begin his journey on Saturday at the Brooklyn Bridge, with a goal of reaching the Santa Monica Pier. The trek will raise money and awareness for people living with spinal cord injuries.

Farrell joined “Mornings On 1” ahead of his cross-country walk to talk about his recovery, his ambitious journey and the cause behind it.
