The New Hyde Park Board of Trustees held off on a decision on Thursday, Aug. 20, on a proposal to expand the operating hours of a restaurant at 1441 Jericho Turnpike, after residents raised concerns about late-night activity, noise and traffic.

The application from Halal Grill Eats seeks to amend a previously approved special-use permit to add breakfast service, extend late-night operations and allow seasonal outdoor seating. The applicant told the board that customers have requested longer hours and that the restaurant sees business from hospital employees and delivery customers.
