Riley County police arrest 19-year-old woman on aggravated battery count

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – Riley County police arrested a woman after she allegedly drove away from an accident scene after striking a road worker Thursday morning just northwest of Manhattan.

The incident was reported around 9:21 a.m. Thursday near Tuttle Creek Boulevard and N. Seth Child Road.

Riley County Police officials listed a 56-year-old man as the victim and a 42-year-old woman unknown to the victim as the suspect.

Lacey Nicole Stevens, the woman who was listed as the suspect in the case, was arrested around 11:38 a.m. Thursday in the 4300 block of N. Seth Child Road.

Stevens was subsequently booked into the Riley County Jail in connection with one count of aggravated battery and one count of failure to stop at an accident.

She was released from jail after posting a $10,000 bond.

There were no immediate reports of injuries in the incident.
