The body of a New York grandma who went missing while visiting Las Vegas has been found after more than a week, her sister told CBS News New York’s Alice Gainer.
Alisa Goods, 63, went missing on August 8 after she left a friend’s apartment to go to a CVS on a bus. She never came back and was reported missing on August 10. Two days later, her family began receiving messages from her phone asking for Bitcoin, help and gas money.
Goods’ niece, Alana Calloway, said the request for gas money set off alarm bells for her, as her aunt does not drive. She said that was when the possibility of kidnapping was raised.
Her daughter, Kristen, said immediately following her mother’s disappearance that she was extremely worried.
“I am hoping to God for the best, but my heart can’t take what it could be, which is the worst,” Kristen Goods said.
On Friday, Goods’ sister told Gainer that the body had been found and that the family would be flying out to Las Vegas. She did not comment further, saying she had “no words.”
