DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — THE BROOKLYN BOOK FESTIVAL is alerting authors and publishers to not be taken in by scammers posing as staff or representatives of the annual book fest, which takes place Sept. 20-28.
“If you are an author or publisher and approached by any other entity or person requesting payment, they do not represent the festival,” organizers warn on Instagram. “Please be aware and do not respond to emails requesting personally identifiable information.”
Registrations for the event’s Marketplace take place through the official Brooklyn Book Festival group only. If in doubt, email [email protected].
