MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – Crews extinguished an electrical fire Tuesday morning at the Boys and Girls Club of Manhattan, officials said.
According to a post made at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday on the Manhattan Fire Department’s Facebook page, companies responded to a report of a blaze at the Boys and Girls Club, located 220 S. 5th St.
Crews used a fire extinguisher to put out the blaze, which occurred in a bathroom at the facility.

No children were in the building, officials said, and all staff members had evacuated before the Manhattan Fire Department’s arrival.
No injuries were reported.
“A good reminder this fire prevention week,” the Facebook post noted. “Make sure you can access fire extinguishers, but only try and extinguish a fire if you can do so safely.”
