A man was killed and another man was injured in a shooting inside a Brooklyn restaurant early Sunday morning in the Brownsville neighborhood.

Law enforcement sources told NBC New York that both of the wounded were employees of American Best Wings & Pizza.

The New York City Police Dept. said a 44-year-old man was shot in the head and died at One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center.

A 39-year-old man was shot in the leg and is expected to make a full recovery.

The shooting happened inside the restaurant at 842 Rockaway Ave., where investigators were seen documenting blood and other evidence.

Neighbors said they were shocked by the violence.

“Inside of the stores, I haven’t even heard about too many robberies actually in the neighborhood in a while,” said neighbor Melvin Irby. “You know, more or less a killing in the store. It’s horrifying. It’s horrifying. I can’t imagine what the family feels like today.”

The name of the man killed was not immediately available. Detectives were still working to determine who shot the men and why. The restaurant was closed past its scheduled opening time on Sunday morning.
