MINNEAPOLIS — Mara Braun led five Minnesota players in double figures with a game-high 17 points as the Gophers routed the Manhattan Jaspers, 99-36, on Friday night at Williams Arena.

Tori McKinney scored 16 points, while Sophie Hart added 13, Grace Grocholski 12 and Makena Christian 11 for the Gophers. The 63-point victory margin was the second-largest in school history.

Minnesota (2-0) held Manhattan (0-2) to 30% shooting from the field, including 0-for-6 from 3-point range.

The Gophers, who pulled down 41 rebounds, including 30 on the defensive board, led by 22 points — 42-20 — at halftime and 72-30 after three quarters.

Minnesota forced 24 turnovers.

The Gophers return to the hardwood on Tuesday against Marquette at Williams Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
