WYOMING CO. (WOLF) — A man wanted on multiple warrants in Wyoming County has been captured in New York and extradited back to Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania State Police at Tunkhannock said Peter Gonzalez Kelly, 65, was taken into custody in Rochester, New York, on Aug. 11.
Kelly was subsequently extradited to Pennsylvania and lodged at the Wyoming County Correctional Facility, according to an update released Monday.
State police had previously sought the public’s help locating Kelly, whose last known residence was in the Clinton Avenue area of the Bronx. His last known Pennsylvania address was along State Route 87 in Mehoopany.
Multiple warrants in Wyoming County
Kelly was wanted by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office after authorities said he failed to appear for a plea hearing on March 3, 2023.
That case involved a felony charge of failure to register with Pennsylvania State Police.
Kelly was also wanted by Meshoppen Borough Police on charges including felony corruption of minors, misdemeanor indecent assault without consent, misdemeanor indecent assault of a person under 16 and summary harassment.
Authorities did not provide additional details about the allegations underlying those charges in the information released.
State police did not say what led authorities to Kelly in Rochester or which agency took him into custody.
Kelly remains lodged at the Wyoming County Correctional Facility following his extradition.
