“Reporting to the Senior Executive Chef, the Cook is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals for the Mayor, the Mayor’s family, and their guests for daily service, events, and official functions,” reads the job listing posted earlier this month.
Strict confidentiality is a must. The gig pays $64,500 a year.
Potential applications need a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as at least three years of professional cooking experience and legally required NYC Food Handler Certification. Speaking Spanish is a plus.
The job is classified as a mayoral assistant position based out of 88 East End Ave, Gracie’s address. New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment, but there are certain exceptions.
The employment opening is to replace a cook who left Gracie for a restaurant opportunity, according to The New York Post. The paper says the rest of the five-person crew served under former Mayor Eric Adams.
