Contrast therapy, using extreme temperatures to facilitate recovery, is one of the most current wellness trends and a new studio specializing in it is opening soon in Hoboken. SweatHouz is a studio specializing in contrast therapy that will be opening on 1125 Maxwell Lane in Hoboken in Fall 2026. Read on for more about SWTHZ and its Hoboken opening.
About SweatHouz
Founder Jamie Weeks debuted SweatHouz in 2019 after seeing how regular trips to an infrared sauna improved his sleep, heart rate, and overall health. Since then, the company has launched over 100 locations across the country. There are studios in Edgewater, Short Hills, Garwood, Montvale, and Morristown currently operating in New Jersey.
SweatHouz is designed to be a three-stage process taking the participant from sweating heat to ice-cold temperatures.

Infrared Sauna
The process starts by stepping into an infrared sauna that reaches up to 170 degrees Fahrenheit. It is suggested that clients spend up to 45 minutes sweating it out in the sauna for deep detoxification and muscle recovery. According to SweatHouz, this step is designed to improve skin, gain longevity, boost metabolism, and manage pain.

Cold Plunge + Vitamin-C Shower
After warming up, the next step is cooling down in a 48-55 degree Fahrenheit cold plunge for two to five minutes. Benefits for this stage include releasing endorphins, boosting sleep quality, improving circulation, and sharpening focus. The final phase is rinsing off in vitamin-C-infused showers designed to rejuvenate the skin.
One session lasts for one hour, where participants can either go through the entire therapy process in one go or alternate between the sauna, cold plunge, and shower. There is also a beauty bar following the therapy session stocked with grooming essentials to freshen up before leaving the studio.

Red Light Therapy
Some locations offer red light therapy beds that utilize specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to penetrate the skin on a cellular level. It is intended to stimulate cellular energy, boost collagen production, and reduce inflammation.
New Jersey Locations
Other locations are expected to pop up across New Jersey as well, including Jersey City and Marlton in Burlington County.
In addition to the Hoboken location, SweatHouz is opening on 300 Route 73 South in Marlton and at 25 Christopher Columbus Drive in Jersey City. Details on when these studios will open and any special amenities that will be offered have not been released.
What to Know About the Hoboken Opening
The upcoming Hoboken location is currently offering an exclusive waitlist for the first 200 people who sign up that offers perks such as free sessions, guest passes, and lifetime discounts. The Hoboken Girl team has reached out to SweatHouz for additional information and will update the article as more details become available.
