Lt. Thomas “TJ” Malanka Jr., Secaucus PD badge No. 125, died around 1:50 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, the department said.
Malanka served with the Secaucus Police Department from 2002 until June 2026. His assignments included patrol supervisor, platoon commander, and extra duty coordinator. Malanka also spent more than a decade as a member of the Hudson County Rapid Deployment Force, police said.
Malanka is survived by his wife, children, mother, and father, retired Secaucus Police Capt. Thomas Malanka Sr., according to the department.
