A 60-year-old man was pronounced dead at a Bronx hospital moments after someone dropped him there and fled without explanation, police said Tuesday.
The victim had trauma to his head and body but it is not clear yet if he was the victim of a crime. His name was not immediately released.
The investigation started when staff at Montefiore Hospital called 911 at 3:53 p.m. Monday. When cops arrived there they were told the man was unconscious and unresponsive when he was dumped there.
The man who dropped him off, police were told, didn’t explain what had happened or where.
The city Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine his cause of death as cops continue to probe the incident.
